#fried Thekua is a sweet fried savoury traditional snacks from Bihar, Jharkhand , West Bengal. Prepared with wheat flour, ghee, dessicated coconut, jaggery- milk syrup, flavoured with cardamoms and snauf. It's revered Prasada ( offering to God) during Chhath Puja.

Ingredients for Thekua Recipe

  • 0.19 cup Wheat flour
  • 0.06 cup Dessicated coconut
  • 1/4 tbsp 1 /2 tbsp g
  • 0.13 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 0.13 tsp Snauf
  • 0.06 cup Finely chopped jaggery
  • 0.06 cup Milk
  • as required Oil for frying
  • 1 pieces Almonds

Directions: Thekua Recipe

  • STEP 1.Melt jaggery in milk on slow flame. Keep aside.
  • STEP 2.In mixing bowl add wheat flour, dessicated coconut, cardamom powder,snauf, almond flakes. Mix well. Add ghee and make crumble like mixture.Add jaggery- milk mixture and bind into semi soft dough.
  • STEP 3.Knead dough again and make 10-12 equal portions. Give shape of leaf to each and with the help of toothpick make veins design on it.
  • STEP 4.Deep fry in hot oil on medium flame till crispy golden.
  • STEP 5.Relish Delicious Thekua as tea time snacks.
